Samba bugzapping: the results !

Last week we held a bugzapping session about Samba (see previous post), with interesting results. Samba has a lot of bugs opened for a server package, but that rarely translates into real bugs that you can fix. That’s why the triaging effort on the first day, combined with the Bug Day, was essential.

We went from 170 open bugs to less than 100 ! We fixed 3 bugs in the upload the next day. Most of the remaining bugs are thought to be already fixed in Lucid and need some confirmation from the reporter.

All in all I think Samba is in good shape for Lucid and would like to thank everyone that participated to the effort, in particular Philip Muškovac, Pedro Villavicencio and Chuck Short, you all rock !
